While imported scrap prices in Türkiye continue to decrease, local scrap prices have also started to decrease.
İsdemir in the Iskenderun region withdrew its scrap purchase prices by 200tl as of 23 October 2023. In imported scrap prices, the latest offers from Europe were made between $345-350/ton and the latest offers from the USA were made at $355/ton.
Shipbreaking scrap prices decreased
Companies connected to Izmir/Aliaga shipbreaking facility reduced their scrap prices by 5-10$/ton. Accordingly, the latest prices are reported as follows.

Export is weak
Turkish steel mills have been offering rebar prices in the range of $550-575/ton for local sales. However, it is heard that some mills are offering prices as low as $545/ton as there is no demand for the offers.
In the export market, a Marmara-based mill was heard to have sold 10,000 tonnes at $545/tonne last week.
