According to market sources' estimates, German steel mills are offering HRC of EUR 740-750/mt ex-Shrine, equivalent to EUR 720-740/mt.
Market participants believe that domestic prices have not yet bottomed out. As a result, spot buyers preferred to remain in a wait-and-see mode and bought limited quantities from the required specifications.
In Northwest Europe, import HRC prices were unchanged at €600/mt CIF Antwerp on 31 May.
In Southern Europe, local hot roll prices were down by €10 to €680/mt EXW Italy on 31 May.
Import HRC prices in the region were down by €10 to €590/mt CIF Italy on 31 May.
