The arrival of the monsoon season is expected to temporarily slow construction and project execution activities across several regions of India, resulting in reduced short-term demand for flat steel products. Demand from infrastructure development, roofing applications, industrial manufacturing, and rural construction projects is expected to provide support to the market despite seasonal disruptions caused by heavy rainfall.

Cheap imports are increasingly worrying Asian steel producers. While the Far East region was previously considered relatively free, the number of mutual anti-dumping lawsuits is now growing. Specifically, Taiwanese companies are poised to file another complaint, citing the appearance of Indonesian hot-rolled steel on the domestic market. Meanwhile, Japan is investigating shipments of similar products from China, Taiwan, and South Korea.
