The 28th Steel Symposium, organized by the Iranian Iron and Steel Association, along with the International Steel Exhibition, will bring together industry representatives in Esfahan, Iran, from October 27–29, 2026.
Held under the theme “Synergy of Scientific and Industrial Ecosystems to Accelerate Green Steel Production,” the symposium will address the transformation of Iran’s steel industry in the areas of production, technology, energy, and sustainability.
Green Steel and Digital Transformation to Take Center Stage
The technical program of the event will cover topics including the modernization of steel plants, competitive production policies, the green steel ecosystem, energy and resource efficiency, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
The symposium will also address material recycling and the circular economy in the steel industry, Industry 4.0 and 5.0 applications, artificial intelligence, new production technologies, supply chains, logistics, human resources, and knowledge transfer.
Other key topics on the scientific agenda will include the production and application of next-generation steels, iron ore extraction technologies, melting and casting, thermomechanical processing, forming, corrosion, surface coating, welding technologies, and refractory materials.
Bringing Together Different Segments of the Steel Value Chain
The International Steel Exhibition, held concurrently with the symposium, is expected to showcase the latest technologies in software, hardware, machinery, equipment, and consumables used in the steel and related mining industries.
Target participants of the exhibition include steel producers, raw material suppliers, technology- and knowledge-driven companies, engineering service providers, logistics companies, industry associations, scientific institutions, and machinery and equipment manufacturers.
The event aims to strengthen cooperation among producers, academics, researchers, technology providers, and government representatives, contributing to efforts to identify solutions to the technical and structural challenges facing Iran’s steel industry.
