China’s impact on Türkiye’s CRC imports: Purchases surge 102.43% in June

Türkiye’s cold-rolled coil (CRC) imports increased by 45.62% year on year in June 2026, with a significant rise recorded in purchases from China.

CRC imports from China increased from 5,581 tons in May to 88,612 tons in June, representing a month-on-month surge of approximately 1,488%.

According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye’s total CRC imports reached 176,726 tons in June 2026. Imports increased by 45.62% compared with the 121,359 tons recorded in June 2025.

A strong increase was also seen on a monthly basis. Total CRC imports increased by 156.42% from 68,918 tons in May 2026 to 176,726 tons in June.

Sharp increase in CRC imports from China in June

CRC imports from China followed a fluctuating trend during the first five months of the year before recording a sharp increase in June. Imports from China stood at 14,277 tons in January, 9,591 tons in February, 3,988 tons in March, 15,147 tons in April and 5,581 tons in May.

In June, however, CRC imports from China surged to 88,612 tons, significantly exceeding the levels recorded in the previous months. This means imports from China increased nearly 16-fold compared with May.

The year-on-year increase was also notable. Türkiye imported 43,775 tons of CRC from China in June 2025, while the volume reached 88,612 tons in June 2026, representing a 102.43% increase. China thus became Türkiye’s largest CRC supplier in June.

Russia ranks second in June

Following China, the Russian Federation ranked second with 40,625 tons, while South Korea came third with 37,301 tons.

CRC imports from Russia increased by 14.03% year on year, while imports from South Korea rose by 35.79%. Imports from France increased by 162.55% to 5,726 tons, whereas imports from Belgium decreased by 46.91% to 1,480 tons.
