The demand for rebar accelerated in the Iskenderun region of Turkey. In the last three days, the dollar exchange rate increased by nearly 4% from 19.96 to 20.71. This increase motivated the sellers who do not have enough stock in their possession. Demand accelerated especially in Payas iron and steel dealers close to the earthquake zone. Rebar prices increased by 500tl compared to yesterday to 16.000-16.100tl.
When we evaluate the dollar-based prices, Payas was the only region to increase while Istanbul, Izmir and Karabük regional prices remained flat.
While rebar prices were traded in the range of $650-660 across Turkey's iron and steel mills, producers in the Iskenderun region pushed $670.

Istanbul rebar prices 15,900 TL (+200) / $651 (-1)
Izmir rebar prices 15,800 TL (+200) / $647 (-1)
Karabuk rebar prices 15,800 TL (+250) / $644 (-1)
Payas rebar prices 16.000 TL (+500) / $655 (+11)
