The European scrap market continues to be active.
Benelux scrap prices have increased this week. While there is a decrease in the prices in the Netherlands, the prices in Germany and Italy are flat. The scrap price in the Benelux, which stood at £365 last week, started the week of 3 March at £358. In the Netherlands, the price started the week at $411, down $5. It still hovers around £395 in Germany and £390 in Italy.
There was variability in rebar prices.
Rebar in Italy is trading at £720 this week, from £705 last week. In Spain, the price, which has been stable at $745 for two weeks, has decreased sharply to £715 this week. Prices in Germany and Poland remain stable.
There was no change in HRC and CRC prices.
HRC prices are also trading at £865 in Germany, £868 in Spain and £830 in Italy this week.
In CRC prices, Italian HRC has increased slightly to £958 this week, from £955 last week. On the other hand, prices remain unchanged at £990 in Spain and £950 in Germany.
This week, there has been a decrease in steel plate prices in Europe.
Steel plate prices in Italy, which were £910 last week, have decreased by £905 this week.
According to the newly announced prices, steel plate prices in Germany decreased from £880 to £860.
