Values are increasing thanks to strong international price levels and containerised scrap exports to India and North Africa at high prices.
However, the European market and the current increases are said to be contradictory and not in line with decreasing consumption and lower sales of finished long and flat products.
This month, prices in France and the Benelux region have been mostly stable across the market with some slight fluctuations. E40 has reached €350-355/t delivered, while E8 is hovering around €350-360/t, but at €330/t for mills buying small tonnages of this grade.
