Rebar prices in Turkey did not strengthen as much as desired

Iron and steel markets want prices to gain strength, but cannot find the support they are looking for.

Rebar prices in Turkey did not strengthen as much as desired

Rebar prices in Turkey could not reach the desired level. Although producers try to support prices upwards at the beginning of each new week, the price of rebar cannot find demand and declines towards the end of the week. Although Turkish iron prices have made minor losses compared to the beginning of last week, they continue to trade close to horizontal.

İçdaş A.Ş. While its list price has been $590 for a long time, it makes discounts around $10 from time to time. Istanbul factories were forced to sell at $600 prices last week, but when they did not see demand, they had to reduce it to $585. While Izmir factories continue horizontally at $580, Payas region is also traded more. This situation enables the producers of the Payas region to hold firm on prices.

Spot rebar prices by region, reported by www.steelradar.com on October 9, 2023, are as follows;

Istanbul iron prices 19.200 TL (0.00)

Izmir iron prices 19.100 TL (0.00)

Karabük iron prices 19.200 TL (0.00)

Payas iron prices 19.600 TL (+100)
