Rebar prices in the Iskenderun region of Turkey have been mobilised days before the second round of the election.
Tosyalı, one of the iron and steel factories in Iskenderun region, had reduced its prices to 14,900tl yesterday. However, the factory increased its rebar prices by 150tl to 15,050tl today and then revised its current prices to 15,100tl with another 50tl increase. Baştuğ Metalurji opened rebar prices for sale at 15,500tl with an increase of 200tl. Post-election uncertainties and exchange rate concerns led those with a deficit in stock to buy.
However, the market, which mobilised before the first round, could not find what it expected after the elections. The rebar market, which has been in a stagnant process for two weeks, revived in the Payas region today.
Spot prices partially increased in other regions trying to find support from Iskenderun region factories, but demand is almost non-existent in Istanbul, Izmir and Karabük. Turkey's export price offers decreased by $2.5 to $617.5.
Spot rebar prices evaluated by www.steelradar.com are as follows;
Istanbul rebar prices 15,300 TL (+300) / -$652 (+12)
Izmir rebar prices 15.100 TL (0,00) / 643 $ (-2)
Karabuk rebar prices 15,100 TL (+100) / $643 (+3)
Payas rebar prices 15,250 TL (+300) / $649 (+13)
