In the iron and steel industry, there has been a serious decrease in export data compared to the same month of the previous year, due to the contraction in global demand and high energy prices in March.
As of May, Turkey is expected to regain its competitiveness in global markets with the discounts applied to natural gas and electricity used in industry.
However, the decrease in rebar prices continues due to the lack of demand in the local market.
The fact that İçdaş A.Ş., one of the leading rebar producers of the Turkish steel industry, reduced its price to $660 with a $30 discount yesterday, is an indication that the decline in rebar prices will continue.

Again, Tosyalı Demir Çelik, one of the factories in the Iskenderun region, dropped its rebar prices, which it announced yesterday at $660 with a $10 discount, to $653 with another $7 discount today.
Although the producers of the Izmir region resisted this decrease as they did not save their costs, it is heard that they decrease the price to $655 according to the demand.
