Billet prices are continuning to rise in the global steel markets. Billet prices offered from Thailand to China were reported in the range of $610-620/t, up $5 on average.
Recently, it was heard that a new purchase was made at $625/t CFR Manila (Philippines) with shipment in April.
Far East Billet prices $655/t
Far Eastern billet prices are trading at $650/t, with recent offers at $655/t CFR Manila (Philippines).
Billet offers from Indonesia, remain flat at $620-630/t fob.
Market representatives predict that billet and finished product prices will continue to rise as long as scrap prices continue to rise.
