Türkiye's rebar export prices decreased

Rebar prices in Türkiye have been deeply affected by the uncertainties resulting from the Israel-Gaza war, which followed a weakening export market and insufficient domestic demand. Many steel mills have reduced their production capacities below 50 percent, while others are preparing to shut down for maintenance work.

Rebar prices at Turkish steel mills have fallen to the $550-565 range, while in the export market, a producer in the Marmara region is reported to have sold 10,000 tons at $545. In scrap imports, the latest prices have fallen as low as $355.

October 20, 2023 spot rebar prices by region, as assessed by www.steelradar.com, are as follows;

Istanbul rebar prices 19,100 TL (+100) / 682,06 USD (+3,57)

Izmir rebar prices 18.600 TL (+100) / 664,21 USD (+3,57)

Karabuk rebar prices 18,800 TL (-100) / 671,35 USD (-3,57)

Payas rebar prices 19.000 TL (0,00) / 678,49 USD (0,00)

(1 USD = 28,00 Turkish Lira)
