The recent exchange rate fluctuations in Turkish rebar prices continue to have an impact on spot rebar prices in Turkish rebar sector. Spot rebar prices in Türkiye have been declining between 100-200 TL/mt in Turkish lira terms, while showing small changes in US dollar terms. This suggests that spot rebar prices have started to hover around the ex-works range of TRY22,900-23,800/mt.
A market source shared his industry forecasts with SteelRadar, saying that production and pricing are expected to remain relatively stable until the end of 2024. There may be some small increases and decreases, but this will not have a major impact on the sector and trading, he said.
While İçdaş kept its official rebar price unchanged at $620/mt ex-mill in dollar terms, a producer in Iskenderun started the week of May 6 with a price hike and raised its price to TRY23,700. A producer in Izmir, on the other hand, set its price at $590. A major producer in Karabük, on the other hand, set a price of TRY23,400 for 12-32mm rebar.
