According to a regulatory filing submitted by NMDC to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the price of 65.5% Fe iron ore lumps sized 10-40 mm was reduced to INR 5,250/ton. The price of 64% Fe fines sized below 10 mm was set at INR 4,500/ton.
The company thus cut the price of lumps by INR 200/ton from INR 5,450/ton in July, while the price of fines was also reduced by INR 200/ton from INR 4,700/ton. The price reductions for both products were approximately 4%.
According to the company’s filing, the announced prices exclude royalty, District Mineral Foundation (DMF) contributions, NMET payments, taxes, forest permit fees, transit charges and other statutory levies.
The price cuts come as NMDC maintains strong production performance. According to data from India’s Ministry of Steel, the company’s iron ore production increased 31% year on year to 4.06 million tons in July 2026. NMDC’s total production for the April-July 2026 period reached 19.16 million tons, while sales stood at 15.15 million tons over the same period.
