The Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) said it has now returned to normal production after cutting production due to operational problems at its aluminum smelting plant, which it jointly owns with Alcoa Corp.
Ma'aden CEO Robert Wilt said the foundry had to suspend some potlines due to certain quality control issues, adding that the suspension would not affect the company's budget.
This aluminum smelter has an annual production capacity of 800,000 tons. 75% is owned by Ma'aden and 25% by Alcoa.
