Tata Steel recorded the highest production and sales in the fiscal year April 2021-March 2022.
According to data from the company, Tata Steel's crude steel production rose 13 percent year on year to 19.06 million tons, while sales rose 5.6% year on year to 18.3 million tons in 2021-22.
January-March production rose 3.2 percent year on year to 4.9 million tons, and sales rose 9.6 percent year-on-year to 5.12 million tons, driven by increased demand.
In the period 2021-22, India's crude steel production rose to 120 million tons, while finished steel exports rose to 13.5 million tons on strong international demand.
Tata Steel increased deliveries for automotive and specialty products by 27 percent year on year to 2.5 million tons in the 2021-22 period. Segmented sales also rose in the January-March period due to higher production at automotive original equipment manufacturers.
The company said that in 2021-22, branded product and retail segment sales increased by 11 percent to 5.2 million tons, while industrial product and project deliveries increased by 12 percent annually to 6.3 million tons.
