In Germany, Europe's economy giant, producer prices increased by 12 percent in August compared to the same month of the previous year, above the expectations.
INCREASE ON A MONTHLY BASIS 1.5 PERCENT
When compared on a monthly basis, producer prices increased by 1.5 percent in August compared to the previous month. The expectation was for an increase of 0.8 percent.
ENERGY PRICES INCREASED 24 PERCENT ANNUAL
In August, energy prices increased by 24 percent compared to the same period last year. The annual increase in interim financial prices was 17.1 percent.
Energy prices increased by 3.3 percent compared to July, while prices of intermediate goods increased by 1.4 percent and durable consumer goods by 0.5 percent.
