Iran's Steel exports flourish: Notable growth across pellets, concentrates, and semi-finished steel in the first nine months of 2024

The customs statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the initial nine months of the current year reveal noteworthy trends in the steel export sector. The report indicates an overall 7% increase in total steel exports, reaching a cumulative volume of 8.197 million tons. This surge is accompanied by significant growth in pellet and concentrate exports, with remarkable increases of 101% and 875%, respectively, during the same period. Additionally, semi-finished exports experienced a commendable rise of 9%, reaching 5.621 million tons.

Total Steel Exports:
The Islamic Republic of Iran witnessed a 7% boost in total steel exports, amounting to an impressive 8.197 million tons during the first nine months of the year.

Pellet Exports:
Pellet exports registered a remarkable surge, showing an impressive growth rate of 101%. The export volume reached over 7.2 million tons, reflecting a substantial increase in demand for this specific steel product. The surge in pellet exports is a significant contributor to the overall positive trend in Iran's steel market.

Concentrate Exports:
Concentrate exports experienced an extraordinary surge of 875%, surpassing 5.1 million tons during the same period. This exponential growth highlights a substantial shift in market dynamics, possibly influenced by global demand patterns or changes in Iran's production capacities.

Semi-finished Steel Exports:
Semi-finished steel exports, a crucial component of Iran's steel industry, demonstrated a notable 9% increase. The export volume reached 5.621 million tons, indicating sustained demand for this category of steel products in international markets.
