According to statistics, imports have more than doubled in ten years. In 2012, CRC imports accounted for only 15 per cent of the EU's CRC market. By 2022, this had increased to 30 per cent. The picture is similar for galvanised coil. Galvanised coil, which had a low share of 5-7% in 2012, started an upward trend, reaching over 13% in 2021.
With a base price of around €650/tonne ($696) for HRC, which may increase slightly in the coming period, local producers are trying to keep prices close to €750 for CRC and slightly higher for galvanised coil.
CRC is currently imported from Antwerp at €700/t cfr. In small tonnages, 0.58mm Z140 galvanised coil is sold at $840-845/t cfr Antwerp.
