According to the announcement made by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change on August 21, 2026, the Erdemir Van SPP project, planned to be established within the boundaries of Kuşkunkıran Neighborhood in the Çaldıran district of Van, will have a capacity of 85 MWe / 116 MWm.
The EIA report for the project, which is planned to be implemented on a total area of 113.41 hectares, was reviewed and evaluated by the Review and Evaluation Commission.
Taking into consideration the commission’s assessments and public opinions, the Ministry granted an “EIA Positive” decision for the project.
