Vietnam's largest steelmaker Hoa Phat has announced that the No. 4 blast furnace at its Dung Quat steel plant, which has been out of operation for several months, is back in operation. It was stated that the shutdown time of the furnace at the facility has been prolonged due to disruptions in the supply of raw materials, and it may take some time for the capacity utilization to reach high levels after restarting. Blast furnace No. 4 will mainly produce HRC as demand for HRC is higher than demand for construction steel.
The annual production capacity of the blast furnace at Guang'an Steel Works is 1 million tons, and the annual crude steel production capacity of the steel plant is 5.6 million tons.
