On March 31st, copper rod sales prices in Jiangxi province, China were offered at a discount of $172, below the near-term sales price of 1,190 yuan/mt ($172.86) for copper bars that were priced at 2,776 yuan/mt ($403).
The electric copper rods were offered at a premium of 605 yuan/mt ($87.88) in East China.
The price difference between copper rods made from copper scrap and copper cathode bars was 1,795 yuan/mt ($260).
The price of copper scrap rods, which is more advantageous for consumers, was recorded at an average of RMB 63,500/mt ($9,223/mt) on April 3rd.
