USA becomes Taiwan's biggest scrap supplier

Imports increased by 11% compared to the previous month and reached 251,000 tons. The largest contribution to this increase came from the United States. Scrap imports from the US increased by 30% to 113,000 tons in the month, making the US Taiwan's top scrap supplier.

Other notable countries from which Taiwan imported scrap in January were Japan (59,000 tons), the Dominican Republic (16,000 tons), Canada (12,000 tons) and Hong Kong (10,000 tons).
