Barca Metals commissions Danieli Centro Recycling for scrap processing plant

Based in New South Wales, Australia, Barca Metals has reached an agreement with Danieli Centro Recycling for the supply of a shredder-based recycling line for its new facility developed in Razorback. With this new investment, the company aims to increase its high-efficiency scrap processing capacity.

Barca Metals commissions Danieli Centro Recycling for scrap processing plant

At the heart of the facility will be the DCR 2227 heavy-duty shredder, a 4,000 hp (3,000 kW) unit powered by Danieli’s patented Variable Speed Drive (inverter) system. This system consistently guarantees the production of 100 tons per hour of high-quality ferrous material while reducing electricity consumption by up to 20%.

Prior to processing, a ZDS 250-800 pre-shredder will ensure the safe downsizing of incoming material, minimizing explosion risks and providing a consistent feed flow to the main shredder.

In the downstream stages of the production line, a complete separation line consisting of high-efficiency magnetic steps, a stepped air separation system, and non-ferrous metal recovery equipment will be deployed. This configuration will ensure the production of exceptionally clean and high-quality products. The optimized layout and process configuration will maximize scrap value, operational safety, and plant profitability.

The project is considered a new milestone for Danieli Centro Recycling, strengthening its presence in Oceania and once again highlighting the importance of advanced scrap processing solutions in the region.
