Speaking at the ceremony, Trump emphasized Warsh’s financial background and experience, stating that he is the most qualified figure to lead the Fed. Trump also highlighted the institution’s independence.
Warsh stated that the Fed will focus on its dual mandate of price stability and maximum employment, while also pursuing reform and modernization in data and modeling processes.
Warsh, who was confirmed by the US Senate on May 13, previously served on the Fed’s Board of Governors between 2006 and 2011. It was also recalled that the last Fed chairman to be sworn in at the White House was Alan Greenspan in 1987.
