In October 2022, the amount of iron ore exported by Ukrainian iron and steel companies amounted to 1.07 tons. Considering the data, it was seen that iron ore exports decreased by 21.1% compared to the previous month. Looking at the customs statistics, it is seen that iron ore exports for this period decreased by 25.1 m/m and amounted to 102.6 million dollars, while in October 2022, there was a physical decrease of 70.9 percent and a monetary decrease of 72.4 percent on an annual basis. .
Looking at the countries importing iron ore from Ukraine, it is seen that Slovakia stands out in the 10 months of 2022. Slovakia comes first with 19.16%, followed by Poland with 16.65% and the Czech Republic with 16.32%.
The emergence of logistics-related problems after Russia's invasion of Ukraine causes iron ore prices to fall together with the unfavorable market conditions, while such problems cause mining and processing facilities to reduce their iron ore production.
