The UK aims for broader trade deals with Turkey

The UK Export Minister Stuart has announced that negotiations will begin in 2022 for more comprehensive commercial agreements with Turkey, which he stressed has done well in the field of advanced engineering.

The UK aims for broader trade deals with Turkey

Observing the production activities of Turkey's Automobile Initiative Group (TOGG), UK Export Minister Graham Stuart is preparing to share his experiences in establishing an electric vehicle charging station with Turkey.

Stating that they are extremely happy to conclude a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Turkey, Stuart stated that the trade volume has grown by 70% in the last 10 years until 2019, and the trade volume between the two countries has reached 20 billion pounds.

NEW COMMERCIAL AREAS WILL BE DEVELOPED BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES

Stating that the FTA is important for securing the ongoing bilateral trade, Stuart said, "Both the Turkish government and we believe that there is great potential to develop new areas to strengthen trade cooperation. That is why we are negotiating a more comprehensive FTA next year. We will, because we believe that the UK and Turkey can do more in partnership.” said.

"OUR EXPERIENCE IN INSTALLING ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION IS IMPORTANT"

Graham Stuart said, "Our experience in establishing an electric vehicle charging station will be very important to achieve the goals of combating climate change in Istanbul and beyond. This is also important in terms of creating a market for companies such as TOGG, which produces electric vehicles in Turkey. There are many things we can do together on issues related to climate change. "We have a lot of common ground, close security and defense partnerships, as well as NATO alliances." used the phrases.

"WE THINK THERE IS MORE THINGS WE CAN DO TOGETHER WITH TURKEY"

Graham Stuart said that British companies doing business in Turkey have a lot of expertise, they think that there is more they can do together with Turkey, that there is a great expertise in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles and autonomous systems on the Turkish side, so the partnerships are not only at the government level, but also at the government level. He said that they think that it should be encouraged among businesses as well.
