Turkiye's hot rolled coil prices increased in the spot market, but the expected demand did not realised

HRC (hot rolled coil) prices in the spot market dated 11 January 2024 increased. Although prices are not yet accepted in the market, an increase of $15 was seen in the Aegean Region and $25 in the Marmara Region.

In Iskenderun spot market, cargoes are available up to $720, but some warehouse companies are offering $730-740. According to the assessment made by market representatives to SteelRadar; 'Demand is still sluggish, buyers' reactions to spot price increases are weak, especially in Iskenderun, and it is possible to buy up to $710. Flat steel traders are more moderate in their approach to exchange in the market conditions where demand is weak'. Although some of the producers slightly increased their list prices, the general average is moving in a horizontal course.

Last day, a producer in the Aegean Region announced a $715 hrc price, up $15 from $700. In other factories, prices were seen in the following ranges;
