Turkey rebar consumption weakens, prices are decreasing

Many end-users in the construction industry are postponing construction projects due to economic uncertainty, high interest rates and high inflation. This has led to a decrease in rebar prices in Turkish lira and dollar terms.

While producer prices in Turkey remained stable at $650 today, rebar prices in the spot market decreased by $4-7 / 100-200tl.

While some experts in the iron and steel market believe that the price floor has been reached, others predict that rebar prices will fall further.

Market confidence has decreased in the market where consumption has weakened well.

Turkey spot rebar prices

Current spot rebar prices evaluated by www.steelradar.com are as follows;

Istanbul rebar prices 17,600 TL (-200) / $630 (-7)

Izmir rebar prices 17,450 TL (-200) / $625 (-7)

Karabuk rebar prices 17,400 TL (-100) / $623 (-4)

Payas rebar prices 17,450 TL (-150) / $625 (-5)

Although rebar sales prices according to regions are based on these levels, price offers are heard 200-300tl below the stated prices.

Billet prices increased

On the other hand, Russian slab prices decreased by $20-30 to $420-460, while billet prices increased by $10-15 to $540-550. Scrap prices hovered around $387.
