In January 2023, US scrap exports amounted to approximately 1.27 million tons, a decrease of 15.4% compared to December 2022 and by 0.2% compared to January 2022.
Scrap exports to Mexico amounted to 321,000 tons, to Turkey amounted to about 247,000 tons, to India amounted to about 140,300 tons, and scrap exports to Taiwan amounted to about 106,300 tons.
The export value decreased by 15.9% m-om and by 17% y-o-y to approximately USD 496 million.
