Saudi Arabia's billet imports have increased

Saudi Arabia's billet imports increased in the first ten months of 2022. According to the General Statistical Institute, Saudi billet imports amounted 1.15 million tons in January-October 2022. This compares with Saudi Arabia's annual billet imports of 785,658 tons and 617,204 tons in 2021 and 2020, respectively.

Oman was the best supplier of billets in the given period. In January-October period of 2022, the volume of Omani billet imports to Saudi Arabia amounted 601,063 tons, compared to 393,844 tons in 2021.

Bahrain exported 290,524 tons in the first eight months of 2022, compared to 286,322 tons.

Other major billet suppliers of Saudi Arabia were Russia (89,482 tons), Kuwait (63,738 tons), India (62,060 tons) and Germany (21,537 tons).
