While Turkish steelmakers have been away from import scrap purchases for about 2 weeks, a new connection has been heard today.
According to the information received from the market representatives, the European origin cargo containing HMS 80:20 352$ Shred 377$ has been reserved for a producer in Iskenderun region.
Thus, the price of imported scrap in Türkiye increased by $6 to $352.
The rise in loan interest rates in Turkey continues to force the market, as many banks close their loans. A steelmaker in the Marmara region gave a price of $560 for rebar yesterday, raising its price to $565 today.
