The Belgian Construction Confederation (Embuild) has released a statement on the situation of the building industry in the country and the problems it has been experiencing recently. In the statement, it was stated that half of the construction companies in the country had to suspend their activities for a while due to delivery problems, material prices or customer demands.

Things are not going well in terms of price and delivery of building materials

In the statement that drew attention to the fact that Embuild conducted a survey with 317 contractors on September 6-13, it was stated that 53 percent of construction companies temporarily suspended their activities. In the statement, it was pointed out that 40 percent of the contractors took a break due to the problems in the supply of building materials and 25 percent of them took a break due to material prices, and it was noted that things did not go well in terms of the price and delivery of building materials.

In the statement, which stated that 30 percent of the builders temporarily suspended the works due to the demand of their customers, it was noted that this was due to financial and technical reasons. In the statement, it was stated that more than half of the construction companies had to temporarily stop one or more construction sites in the next 3 months for various reasons such as delivery problems, high material prices, customer demand and high energy prices.
