Kazakhstan's total steel production increased by 2,1 % in January-March

In March 2024, crude steel production in Kazakhstan reached 357,1 thousand tonnes, an increase of 21,8% compared to the previous month and 5,9% compared to the same period last year.

The total smelting volume in January-March 2024 reached 943 thousand tonnes, up 2,1% compared to the same period last year.

Flat steel production in March 2024 reached 236,7 thousand tonnes, up 44,8% compared to the previous month and 11% compared to March last year.

Flat-rolled steel production in the first quarter of 2024 reached 589,4 thousand tonnes, down 7,9% year-on-year.

Industrial production as a whole grew by 3,8%. In the manufacturing sector, the index reached 105,6%. The metallurgical sector recorded a growth of 4,3%.
