The government announced in April that it would discharge the plant water in Japan which was treated in accordance with the conditions set by the regulators, into the Pacific Ocean as part of the plan, but fishermen, residents of the region, and neighboring countries such as China and South Korea strongly opposed the plan.
According to the accepted evacuation plan, the government will set up a fund to store fisheries to mitigate the impact on the fishing industry of negative rumors due to the plant's water discharge.
Capacity is full in 2022
The radioactive substances formed in the pure water, which is used to cool the damaged reactors at the power plant, are decomposed, except for the tritium material, thanks to the Advanced Liquid Processing System (ALPS).
The decomposed water retained at the facilities and increasing day by day is expected to fill the water storage tank capacity of the Fukushima complex in the summer of 2022.
