The Turkish rebar and steel industry entered the festive mood. In the market where the demand has completely stopped, the difference between the factory prices and the ex-warehouse spot market prices has widened. Despite the ongoing factory prices between $630-640, trader-based prices fell below $600, especially in Izmir and Payas.
Rebar prices in the Iskenderun region in Turkey fell sharply. Rebar prices in the Payas region fell below the $600 limit. In the rebar and steel market, where scrap is $387, rebar has lost its profit margins. If rebar prices do not show a recovery trend, a sharp decline in scrap prices is expected.
