What is Hairpin Iron?

What is hairpin iron? Is there any difference between hairpin reinforcement and other ribbed irons? The answer to all these questions is here...

What is Hairpin Iron?

Reinforced concrete iron, bent in the shape of the letter U is called hairpin iron. The fitting is called a hairpin because it is folded in half to make it easier to transport. Reinforcement irons (construction steels) are standard length 12 m in the market but It is difficult to transport the equipment produced as 12 meters. Trucks carrying this length of iron are not allowed to enter the constructions especially in narrow streets. For this reason, 12 meters long iron is bent from the middle in the form of the letter U in special machines. So that it can be transported by smaller trucks.

What is the difference of hairpin iron?

Hairpin iron is no different from other ribbed reinforcement. Hairpin iron prices are the same as the construction iron price on that day.

Another purpose of bringing the reinforcement into a hairpin shape (u-shape) is for static solution. For example, using hairpins in consoles (balcony, etc.) gives more statically efficient solution instead of using lower reinforcement and upper reinforcement.
