Türkiye spot rebar prices increased

What happened in Turkish steel markets today?

Türkiye spot rebar prices increased

While the uncertainty in VAT declarations in the Turkish steel industry continues, Türkiye has re-set import duties on various steel products as part of protectionism. Accordingly, import duties were increased for a total of 4,222 different industrial products.

On the other hand, while ore prices are on the rise in global markets, demand for scrap is expected to increase. However, according to the latest import scrap figures, the last purchase for 80/20 was realized at $405/ton.

Rebar prices at iron and steel mills fluctuate between $600-620/ton while spot rebar prices have been gradually increasing.

January 3, 2024 www.steelradar.com evaluated spot rebar prices by region as follows;

Istanbul rebar prices 22.100 TL (+100) / 742,15 USD (+3,36)

Izmir rebar prices 21.550 TL (+150) / 723,68 USD (+5,04)

Payas rebar prices 22.350 (+150) / 750,55 USD (+5,04)
