Turkey's iron ore imports increased in the first half of 2021

Import value reached roughly US$929.8 million, up 112.3% year on year.

Among them, imports from Brazil took the largest share at roughly 2.7 million tons, up 1.8% year on year. Sweden was second with around 904,500 tons, down 21.1 percent year on year; it was followed by Russia's 771,000 tons of tonnage, up 52.8% year on year.

In June alone, Turkey's iron ore imports totaled approximately 1.12 million tons, up 28.2 percent month on month and 33.2 percent year on year. Import value totaled around US$206.5 million, up 20% from May and up 172.5 percent year on year.
