Import scrap prices in Turkey have increased sharply with new deals announced on Thursday.
Turkey's scrap requirement shipped in February accelerated scrap purchases. The connections made supported the increase in prices. After the HMS 80:20 of EU origin was connected from Turkey for $409/ton cfr on Wednesday, another European supplier sold HMS 80:20 for February shipment at $412.5/ton cfr. A Scandinavian supplier sold HMS 90:10 from Denmark for $422/ton cfr.
In the following deals, it was heard that sales were made to a manufacturer in Izmir for $ 80:20 417 / ton and to a manufacturer in Iskenderun for $ 413/ton for 80:20.
