80/20 import scrap prices which were at $410 level started to decline in the first half of July,
Scrap prices which increased with the accelerated demand before the holiday, turned their direction down after the holiday.
While Turkish steelmakers completed their orders for July they were only able to fill half of their production for August. Turkish mills who are not buying at $390 prices due to slowing demand are putting pressure on scrap prices.
Market sources claim that traded 80/20 scrap prices are around $365-375 although not confirmed.
