Russia's stainless steel production amounted to around 33,000 tons in August, an increase of 12.4% compared to the previous month and 28% compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the first eight months of this year, Russia produced a total of approximately 185,000 tons of stainless steel, an increase of 27.5% year on year. Growth in stainless steel production was supported by stable demand.
In terms of imports, Russia's stainless steel imports reached approximately 53,300 tons in August, with an increase of 21.4% monthly and 34% annually. Among them, China was the largest supplier with a share of 55.4%.
Russia's stainless steel imports reached a new record in August, surpassing the previous record volume of around 52,000 tonnes in April.
