Danieli Group, the Italian supplier of equipment and physical installations for the steel industry, has announced the modernization of Nucor Steel Gallatin hot rolled plate plant in Kentucky.
After the modernization, the plant released a new product - the first strip with a thickness of 18 mm.
The company has moved from a compact thin slab casting and rolling mill to QSP, a quality strip rolling mill. The upgraded equipment allows Nucor to increase its output of AHSS, API line pipe and other value-added grades to 1870mm.
