The Polar Division's largest producer of high-grade ore is Taimyrsky, which will continue to hold that position going forward.
In 2009, a project was launched to invest in the Bolshoi Gorst site in order to replenish the mining enterprise's retiring capacities.
The Taimyrsky mine's Oktyabrskoye copper-nickel deposit at the Bolshoi Gorst site has a reserve of more than 8 million tons of ore. This ore is distinct in that it contains almost all of the metals mined at Norilsk Nickel's Polar Division.
They are currently working on 15 major investment projects for mine development. These projects include extensive production and modernization, the discovery of new deposits in active mines, and the development of all ore types. This project will increase ore production volume at Polar Division and keep the mine operational until 2040.
