According to data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), production increased by 5.7 percent compared to the previous month to 7 million 649.3 thousand tonnes.
Production of hot-rolled steel products increased by 7.8 percent on a monthly basis, while it decreased by 3.7 percent on an annual basis to 6 million 756.2 thousand tonnes. Pig iron production increased by 5.5 per cent m-o-m and decreased by 4.1 per cent y-o-y to 5 million 475.9 thousand tonnes.
