According to customs statistics, Indonesia's billet exports increased by 23% in the first nine months of 2023 compared to the same period of 2022 and were recorded as 1.9 million tons.
The Philippines was the largest importer with an import volume of approximately 339,000 tons, while Taiwan ranked second with 324,000 tons.
During September 2023, Indonesia only exported around 212,000 tonnes of billet, compared to 298,000 tonnes in the previous month.
Despite the decline in September 2023 exports, the general trend shows that Indonesia's billet exports have recorded a significant increase on an annual basis this year.
