India's steel exports expected to continue to decline

India's steel exports in July decreased by 33% month on month to 0.62 million tons (mnt). The 15% export tax applied, the decrease in global steel prices, the increased inflation due to the Russia-Ukraine crisis, the restricted production affect exports negatively. 

In the January-July 2022 period, volumes were 8.83 mnt, down 30% from 12.50 million mnt in the same period in 2021.
