India's coal production in December last year amounted to about 82.9 million tonnes, up 9.2% from the previous month and 10.8% from the previous year.
Coal India Limited (CIL) achieved a 10.3% increase in production. Production of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and other connected coal mines increased by 19.12% and 9%, respectively.
Coal shipments increased by 5.28% y-o-y during this period to approximately 78.9 million tonnes.
