According to data shared by the company, the DRI II plant produced 248,601 tons in May 2026, setting a new monthly production record.
During the same period, average productivity reached 334.1 tons per hour. Thus, the previous record of 328.6 tons per hour, recorded in January 2026, was surpassed. The DRI II plant also maintained production throughout May without experiencing any interruptions.
New efficiency record in January-May period
According to Tosyali Algérie, the DRI II plant achieved an average productivity of 316.9 tons per hour during the January-May 2026 period, setting a new annual productivity benchmark worldwide among MIDREX plants.
This performance exceeded both the average productivity of 312.7 tons per hour recorded by the plant throughout 2025 and its design capacity of 312.5 tons per hour.
Tosyali Algérie stated that the results achieved at the DRI II plant established a new performance standard and congratulated the team that contributed to the record.
